Drugs, guns recovered from traffic stop

Narcotics and multiple firearms were confiscated following a Friday, March 7, traffic stop executed by officers of the Washington Township Police Department in the area of U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 239.

Ryan Davis, 49, of New Haven, Indiana, was pulled over at 8:19 p.m. for a turn signal violation. Upon making contact, officers observed signs of drug use and requested K9 Tega from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office to assist at the scene.

K9 Tega alerted to the vehicle, and a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. Officers recovered fentanyl inside a metal container and discovered three firearms.

Davis was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail. He was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, with additional charges under review due to his criminal record and the firearms located in the vehicle.
