Drug charges filed during holiday weekend

Eric McKee, 45 of Michigan, was charged with possession of methamphetamine (bulk) and possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop Friday, June 30.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department were on patrol on U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 94 and conducted a traffic stop on McKee for a window tint violation.
Upon making contact with the driver, officers said he was overly nervous for the traffic stop and signs of drug use were observed. K9 Bruno was called to the scene and alerted. A probable cause search was conducted and methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe was located.
The defendant was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.

• Kelly Moore, 32 of Columbus, was charged with possession of fentanyl and possession of fentanyl and possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop Saturday, July 1.
Officers on patrol about 8:40 p.m. on State Route 708 and Township Road 61 and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation.
Upon making contact with Moore and the driver of the vehicle, they admitted there was marijuana inside of the vehicle. The marijuana was located and Moore later admitted to having drugs concealed on her body. She removed fentanyl and scheduled II controlled pills from her body.
The defendant was taken into custody and transported to the jail

• Briana Mohler, 32, of Lakeview, was charged with possession of drugs, driving under suspension and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop about 4:20 p.m. Thursday, June 29.
Officers on patrol on Township Road 239 near US Route 33 and observed a vehicle being driven by Mohler. Officers learned that she had a suspended driver’s license.
A traffic stop was initiated. Upon making contact with the driver, she admitted there was marijuana inside of the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and marijuana, methamphetamine and fentanyl were located. A blue powdery substance was located folded up in a $50 bill, along with a glass methamphetamine pipe.
Mohler was transported to the jail. Additional charges are pending the receipt of lab results.

OVI arrests reported

Antonio Garcia, 51, of Lima, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to a traffic stop Tuesday, July 4.
About 1 a.m., officers on patrol on Main Street near Lincoln Boulevard were flagged down about a disabled vehicle.
Upon making contact with the driver of the disabled vehicle, Garcia, officers observed signs of impairment. He admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day. Garcia agreed to perform field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest for OVI. An open container of alcohol was located in his vehicle.
The defendant was transported to the jail and submitted to a breath test. His results were .187 BAC. He also was cited for having an open container in a motor vehicle and was released to a sober driver.

• Deborah Taylor, 61 of Russells Point, was charged with OVI and was cited for driving without headlights during a traffic stop Sunday, July 2.
About 1:15 a.m., officers were on patrol on Main Street near Orchard Island Road and conducted a traffic stop with her vehicle since she was driving without headlights.
Upon making contact with the driver, signs of impairment were observed. Taylor admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day. Deborah submitted to field sobriety tests and was subsequently taken into custody for OVI.
Taylor was transported to the jail. Once at the jail, she refused to submit to a breath test.
