Andrea Reid, 41, of Bellefontaine, was charged with possession of drugs, tampering with evidence, illegal conveyance and possession of drug abuse instruments during a traffic stop Friday evening, Feb. 2.

Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol on State Route 366 near the Family Dollar about 6:30 p.m. and observed a vehicle occupied by Reid and Nathaniel Clem.

Having prior knowledge of Clem being on probation, his probation officer requested officers make contact with him due to suspicious behavior at the business.

Upon making contact, both occupants were overly nervous, officers said. K9 Tega was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle and hypodermic needles were recovered that Reid stated belonged to her.

Reid was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail. Clem was released from the scene.

Once at the jail, corrections officers located fentanyl on Reid’s person.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

• Ashly Carter, 39 of Russells Point, was arrested on a warrant Thursday, Feb. 1, and also faces possible drug charges.

Officers were on patrol about 11:05 p.m. on Main Street near Sunnyside Avenue and observed Carter walking down the roadway. Officers knew that she had an active warrant for her arrest.

Contact was made with the defendant and she was advised of the warrant. Carter became uncooperative with officers and actively resisted arrest. She was eventually placed under arrest. During a search of her person, methamphetamine and a pipe were located, officers said.

Carter was transported to the jail and lodged on the warrant. Charges of possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest were forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.
