Driver transported from C.R. 130 crash

Jeffrey P. Long, 60, of Huntsville, was transported by Huntsville EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries sustained in a crash Monday, July 17.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Jason G. Riley, 64, of Columbus, was operating a southbound 2002 Ford F-150 on County Road 130 about 2:45 p.m. and was stopped behind a semi tractor-trailer in the middle of the intersection of County Road 37.

Riley turned into the northbound lane and was struck by a northbound 1989 Ford Mustang operated by Long. Riley’s pickup then struck a stop sign.

Riley did not report any injuries and he was cited for failure to yield the right of way when turning left. Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene. The drivers were wearing their seat belts.
