Levi Reed, 20, of West Liberty, was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and a marked lanes violation following a traffic stop that occurred about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, March 26, in the area of westbound Lake Avenue near south Main Street.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department observed the diesel truck the suspect was driving straddling the median lines and initiated a traffic stop for the marked lanes violation.
Upon making contact with the driver, a strong odor of alcohol beverage was reported from inside the truck.
Reed declined to attempt field sobriety tests and reportedly acknowledged to officers that he shouldn’t be driving.
A blood-alcohol breath test registered 0.218. He was issued a summons and released to a sober driver.
