Dustin Wells, 32, of Lewistown, was charged with felony failure to comply during a traffic stop Thursday, July 25.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol about 6 p.m. on State Route 274 near County Road 61 observed a vehicle being driven by Wells.
Officers were aware that the defendant had a suspended driver’s license and also as part of his bond conditions from a prior felony case, he was ordered him to not drive any vehicles.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Wells and he immediately accelerated to speeds over 100 mph. He reportedly continued westbound on S.R. 274, passing several cars unsafely and attempted to turn onto County Road 54. Due to excessive speeds, he was unable to make the turn.
He then continued westbound on S.R. 274 and as officers closed in on him, he came to a stop on Township Road 21 near S.R. 274.
Wells was taken into custody without further incident and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
