February is Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is love. Love is chocolate. For the Downtown Bellefontaine Partnership, that’s a good reason to have all four collide in the annual Chocolate Walk this Friday, Feb. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Once again, the evening will be filled with decadent treats and small-town charm. And, according to Maddie Stotler, downtown event coordinator, they’ve added a few opportunities to not just eat the chocolate but savor some new surprises.
“This is the sweetest event of our year,” Stotler explained. “We’ve added chances to experience the chocolate with items like dirt pudding, peppermint hot chocolate and a chocolate sauce.”
Thanks to the sponsorship of City Sweets & Creamery and Queen of Hearts Fine Chocolates & Gifts, participants will receive a box ready to be filled with irresistible treats. This year that includes decadent brownies, edible cookie dough, hand-crafted chocolates and buckeyes.
Participants will start their journey by checking in at The Morning Riot in the Marketplace, 130 S. Main Street. At that time, they’ll pick up their box and a guide to the 22 businesses taking part in the Walk.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased under the events tab at downtownbellefontaine.com. Only 150 tickets are available, though, and they’ve already sold about two-thirds of them, so don’t wait!
“This is the perfect opportunity to indulge in all things chocolate, explore our vibrant downtown and support local businesses,” Stotler concluded. “Secure your spot soon for this one-of-a-kind chocolate experience!”
