Donald E. Marker, 67, of Bellefontaine, OH formerly of Russells Point, OH, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Friday afternoon, March 7, 2025, at Buckeye Forest of Belle Springs Care Center.
Donald was born on October 18, 1957, in Bellefontaine, the son of the late Charles O. Marker and Greta E. Argabright Marker. He married Chana K. Courtright on February 2, 1981, in Columbus, OH, and she preceded him in death on October 15, 2011. He was also preceded in death by Barkley, his German Shepherd.
Don is survived by two children, Amanda K. (David P Hemmert) Marker of Russells Point, and DJ (Renee) Marker of Bellefontaine, three grandchildren, Melanie K. (Kevin) Beatty of DeGraff, OH, Holden Baker of West Liberty, OH, and Chris (Katie) Baker of Bellefontaine, and three great grandchildren, Sophia, Gabby and Beau Baker, and a sister, Peggy S. Marker of Bellefontaine.
Don was a 1976 graduate of Indian Lake High School. He was a hard worker throughout his life beginning at Beck’s IGA, then worked at Airstream, Owned and Operated Bodies BY Marker, and worked at Honda Marysville Plant for 30 years retiring in 2016. Don was an avid fan of NASCAR especially Geoff Bodine, OSU Buckeyes, and Minnesota Vikings. To Don, there was no better car than a Ford Mustang. He enjoyed going to concerts, fishing, traveling, hosting pool parties, but nothing beat spending time with his granddaughter, Melanie. Don was a selfless individual and willing to help whenever he saw the need.
Pastor Karen Blackburn will begin memorial services at 4:00 PM, Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview with visiting from 2-4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Don’s memory to Buckeye Forest at Belle Springs, 221 School St., Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
