Deputies of the Logan Sheriff’s Office report a two-vehicle, serious injury crash occurred Monday afternoon, Oct. 20, in the 2500 block of County Road 10, and sent four people to the hospital, including two children.

Jack Larue, 71, of Bellefontaine, was driving a 2014 Dodge Avenger westbound on C.R. 10 around 2:24 p.m. when the car came to a complete stop before attempting a left turn into a driveway. Larue’s vehicle then turned into the path of an eastbound 2016 Jeep Patriot and was struck.

Larue was transported by private vehicle to Memorial Hospital in Marysville. The driver of the Jeep, Abby Field, 31, of East Liberty, reported possible injuries but was not transported from the scene.

Two children in the Larue vehicle, ages 10 and 11, were transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus for treatment of suspected serious injuries. One of the children sustained a broken rib and other internal injuries, while another had internal injuries, according to a relative’s social media post. The post also relayed that the children have been treated and released from the hospital.

Larue also sustained broken ribs and other broken bones and remained hospitalized as of Wednesday morning, according to the post.

An adult passenger in the Larue vehicle, Steve A. Garrison, 40, of Bellefontaine, was transported by private vehicle to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries, deputies said.

Larue was cited for failure to yield the right of way when turning left.

Damage to the vehicles was disabling, and both were towed from the scene.
