Dennis Eugene “Denny” Wren, 80, of Gibsonia, PA, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022. He was born in Bellefontaine, OH on July 7, 1942, son of the late David I. and Margaret E. Coy Wren.

Beloved husband for 38 years of Donna McPoland Wren.

Loving father of Brenda (Gregory) Beecher of Marysville, OH, Denise (Scott) Scherer of Lewistown, OH, and step-father of Tracey Franke of Annapolis, MD.

Brother of David (Dara) Wren and the late Terrance Wren and Cathy LeVan.

Dear grandfather of Chad (Mandy) Beecher, Kyle Beecher, Shayla (Justin) Colley, Devin (Brittany) Kipker. Great-grandfather of Bexley Beecher, Reagan Beecher, Dax Colley, Ella Kipker.

Step-grandfather Stealth Scherer and Blazie Scherer and step-great-grandfather of Mia Varian.

Also survived by his sister-in-law Sherry Wren of Bellefontaine, OH as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Denny graduated from Bellefontaine, OH High School in 1961. He spent summers at his Uncle Wayne Wren’s family farm in Lewistown, OH. He was adventurous and enjoyed playing golf, baseball, boating, water skiing, bowling, snowmobiling, snow skiing, as well as watching football and golf. A talented handyman, he helped to build his first home in Bellefontaine at the young age of 23.

Early in his career, Denny was the manager of Notestine’s Floor Covering in Bellefontaine, OH. He enjoyed teaching and installing carpet and tile in his community and beyond. He later became a Manufactures Sales Rep for Mohawk Industries until retirement. He was a master craftsman and would take on many projects with gusto and complete them to perfection. Denny was a larger-than-life presence in his community, with his family and friends and with any stranger that he encountered.

Denny truly enjoyed life to its fullest with a cheerful heart, infectious smile and kind spirit. After retirement Denny enjoyed traveling, golfing with his friends, spending time with his family and completing home improvement projects for family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, PA 15007, on Saturday, February 4, from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. A blessing service in reverence to Denny will be held following visitation at 2:30 p.m. A reception will be held subsequent to the funeral. The family suggests memorials to be made to your favorite charity.
