It’s been a long time coming, but the citizens of DeGraff finally came together in a community-wide event Friday, July 21. The celebrated the occasion by holding their first cruise-in … and it was worth the wait.
Sponsored by Bell Insurance and Buckeye State Bank, the night saw dozens of classic cars on display down Main Street, which exceeded the organizers’ hopes to bring in at least 15 vehicles.
One of those organizers — John Franck, branch manager at the bank — said, “We’re so happy with the village for this turnout.”
The other person who made the cruise-in happen was Eric Bell, who took the initiative from the beginning by visiting other area car shows and spreading the word.
In conjunction with admiring the beautiful cars, each attendee was offered a complimentary hot dog and beverage, which were provided by the Hound Dogs food truck.
“We have a lot of car lovers in the area, and the town lends itself to that history,” Erica Gay, marketing manager for Buckeye State Bank, said. “We want to see the community thrive.”
