David Cameron Carr, 65, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 12:12 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on May 15, 1959, to the late John P. and Mary Lou (Magness) Carr.
David is survived by his fiancé, Vicki Stratton; his children, Katie (Nick) Halm, Josh Carr, Tasha Carr, Emily (Brock) Coyer, Clay Carr, and Logan Carr; grandchildren, Sophia, Henry, Austin, Liam, Kingston, Titan, Aiden, Taylor, Braylon, Ariah, Avayah, Hailey, and Ayson; brothers, George Carr, and Greg (Mandi) Carr; sister-in-law, Shelly Carr; several nieces and nephews; and his furry companion, Duke.
Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his siblings, Cheryl Snyder, John Carr, Rick Carr, and Daniel Carr.
David was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He was proud of his service to his country. Dave loved rock music, karate movies, and football. He was an avid Buckeyes fan and dedicated his Sundays to watching his beloved Cleveland Browns “almost always, almost win.” When naming his second son, he was thrilled to realize he could pair an old family name with a middle name that would coincidentally be the same as a legendary linebacker on the roster.
Being born one of seven, family meant the world to Dave. His family was his true pride and joy. He loved grilling up a big meal for them and making blueberry pancake breakfasts for his grandkids. It was this time spent with his grandchildren that was his favorite. Dave enjoyed making others laugh and smile, especially his fiancée Vicki. She was his heart and home. They loved taking road trips to explore new places together. Not only did Dave love his family, but he was a dear friend to many. He was kind hearted and always willing to help others in need. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and his loyal dog, Duke.
A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 7, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine.
