Daniel L. Ehrler, 78, of Belle Center, OH and formerly of Long Beach, CA, was born on June 27, 1945, to the late Claude and Jesse Ehrler in Long Beach, and departed this world on December 31, 2023.

Dan leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Carole J. Ehrler. He is also survived by two daughters, Valerie (Ken) Frank and Angela (Michael) Hagedorn, three grandchildren, Taylor (Christopher) Witscher, Effie Frank, and Gianna Hagedorn, three step-grandsons, James (Catalina) Hagedorn, Christopher (Joy) Hagedorn, and Nicholas (Jeanna) Hagedorn, five great grandchildren, Greyson, Liam, Olivia, Sofia, and Lara, and a brother, Dennis (Gary) Ehrler.

Dan attended California State University Long Beach, earning his bachelor’s degree and Master of Arts in Speech with an emphasis in Public Address. Dan taught English and Public Speaking in California. He also worked for several area chambers of commerce in California for many years. In 2015, Dan moved to Belle Center to be closer to family. He loved being by the water. Dan also had a love of dogs, especially Bassett Hounds and French Bulldogs. He also had a huge love of sports cars and racing and enjoyed fine dining and wines.

He will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, steadfast brother, as well as a friend to all who knew him.

A celebration of Dan’s life will be Friday, January 12, from 4 to 8 pm at LaPizzeria, Huntsville, OH.
