The Logan Auditor County recently released the 2022 Popular Annual Financial Report as an easier way for members of the community to review and understand some of the basic information of Logan County’s’ finances and local government.
“We created a PAFR that is interesting and will help people learn a little more about Logan County, where the county’s money comes from and how it gets spent,” Logan County Auditor Jack Reser said.
“As part of our county’s ongoing efforts to improve communications with the community, we wanted to create a more reader-friendly version of the county’s financial and government information that will hopefully become a useful source of information for our community.”
Reser offered highlights for the PFAR, including:
• The Logan County General Fund maintained a balanced budget of revenue to expenditures, with revenues at $21,537,487; and expenses at $21,075,764.
• Transfers of property were at a record number and a record amount of dollars. In 2022, the 2,696 residential transfers totaled $292,180,738; and the 179 commercial transfers totaled $58,104,040.
• The Logan County General Fund debt was reduced by $1,072,559.
• The Logan County Auditor’s office managed almost $390 million dollars of revenue and expenditure, combined.
• Logan County received a clean audit from the Auditor of State for the 2021 year.
Logan County also publishes an AOS Audit report which provides financial information in much greater detail. The reports are presented using generally accepted accounting principles, the standard format for government accounting. The reports can be found online at the County of Logan website www.co.logan.oh.us.
