Chelsey Mills, 35, of Celina, and Matthew Marchese, 34, of Columbus, each were charged with possession of cocaine during a traffic stop Friday evening, Feb. 9.
Mills also was charged with trafficking in cocaine and tampering with evidence.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department were on patrol on U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 94 and conducted a traffic stop on Mills and Marchese for a speed and marked lanes violation.
Upon making contact with the occupants, they showed signs of drug use.
Marchese consented to a search of his person and cocaine was recovered from his pocket.
When Mills was asked if she had anything illegal on her person, she handed officers a small bag of cocaine from her bra.
Officers believed she had more illegal drugs on her person. Eventually, Mills removed a large amount of cocaine from her body cavity. The drugs were tested on scene and tested positive for cocaine. The weight of the cocaine recovered from her body cavity was 25.15 grams.
The two defendants were taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.
• Jeremy Lawrence, 46, of Waynesfield, was charged with possession of drugs as a result of a traffic stop Friday evening.
Officers were on patrol about 7:55 p.m. Township Road 239 and U.S. Route 33 and conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle for an equipment violation.
Upon making contact with the defendant, signs of drug use were observed. K9 Bruno was deployed and alerted to the vehicle.
A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, methamphetamine was located.
Lawrence was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.
