Logan County law enforcement and fellow first responders gather Friday morning, May 24, as a kick off to the annual Click It or Ticket campaign, reminding motorists of the importance of buckling up before heading to their activities this holiday weekend and throughout the rest of the year. The Ohio Traffic Safety Office reports that 61 percent of people killed in crashes in Ohio were not wearing a seat belt. Local law enforcement will be conducting extra patrols over Memorial Day weekend and throughout the campaign, which continues through Sunday, June 2, to ensure that motorists get home safely to their loved ones as the summer season begins. Gathered at the Logan County Ohio Department of Transportation garage Friday alongside ODOT personnel include officers, deputies, troopers and firefighters from the Bellefontaine Police Department, Bellefontaine Fire Department, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Russells Point Police Department, Washington Township Police Department and West Liberty Police Department.
