The Indian Lake Community Health and Wellness Partners School-Based Health Center is now fully staffed and open.
As of Jan. 4, Nurse Practitioner Breanna Detrick and Medical Assistant Daun Myers are available during school hours for health care needs.
“We can serve as a primary care, or more like an urgent care medical treatment. It can be a one-time visit or if you want to have all your health care here, we can do that, as well,” Detrick explained.
Located within Indian Lake Middle School, the facility is equipped with private patient spaces.
Providers can offer diagnosis of common illnesses, work physicals, prescriptions, ordering of tests, certain rapid result tests and some scheduled vaccinations for students in any grade level at Indian Lake and district staff members.
The Community Health and Wellness Partners Clinic at Indian Lake Schools opened last fall for mental health referrals and treatment. Case Manager Alayna Levingston provides intervention and Bethany Henry provides therapy. They continue to offer those services on site daily.
Indian Lake Superintendent Dr. Rob Underwood is pleased to offer this service on campus.
“The Health Clinic is another resource that supports the Indian Lake mission to educate the whole child. Results far exceeded our expectations this fall when the clinic opened to provide mental health services.
“The addition of medical services further enables us to meet the basic needs of students, which reduces lost educational time and allows students to reach their full potential.”
If a student presents with an illness/health issue at the school office or with the school nurse, parents will be notified, as always. Parents will then be given the option to send their child to the clinic at ILMS for treatment.
If parents want their student(s) to be able to visit the health clinic, they must have the Community Health and Wellness Partners Program forms completed online.

After signing the consent form, parents will still be contacted before minor children/students are seen by the providers or any treatment is administered and they will be advised of any outcomes and needed follow-up.
