Bellefontaine and Kenton Ridge went down to the wire Friday, with the host Cougars pulling out a 51-49 victory in a Central Buckeye Conference boys basketball game.
The Chiefs drop to 9-11 overall and 2-7 in the CBC. The Cougars improve to 10-9, 5-4.
The Cougars built a four-point lead (19-15) after one quarter and the hosts stayed in front by four (32-28) at halftime.
The Chiefs outscored KR 10-7 in the third period to climb within one (39-38) after three periods.
Kenton Ridge was one point better (12-11) in the final quarter to secure the victory.
C.J. Wilson led the Chiefs with 15 points, while Keagon Overton-Story and Carter Snapp each had 10 points. Riley Neer added seven points.
In the junior varsity game, Kenton Ridge won 47-46. Kailyn Organ led the Chiefs with 15 points and Patrick Stolly had 14.
In the freshman game, Bellefontaine won 49-37. Jair Mundy led the Chiefs with 17 points and Grayson Lotts had 16 points.
Bellefontaine is back in action next Friday at home against London.
