Chiefs sweep quad meet

Bellefontaine’s boys and girls won a home quad meet against Benjamin Logan, Calvary Christian and Kenton Ridge on Monday.

The Chieftain boys tallied 118.5 points to finish ahead of the Raiders (86), Calvary (33) and the Cougars (18.5).

In the girls meet, Bellefontaine edged Ben Logan 84.5-81.5 to place first. Kenton Ridge was second with 75 points and the Spartans had nine points.

Kailyn Organ and Tony Stewart each won two individual events to lead the Chieftain boys.

Organ placed first in the 100 (11.26) and 200 (23.42), while Stewart took the top spot in the 1,600 (4:54.72) and 3,200 (10:55.03).

Also getting wins for the Chiefs were Harper Scott in the 400 (58.83), Carter Snapp in the 800 (2:13.22), James Holt in the 300 hurdles (44.06), the 1,600 relay team of Max Varner, Vansh Patel, Kaiden Foulk and Snapp (3:42.75), the 3,200 relay team of Seth Taylor, Wes Dunn, Hayden Maus and Zavier May (9:13.25) and Sullivan Ashcraft in the shot put (48-9.25).

Taking second for the Chiefs were Foulk in the 400 (55.22), Taylor in the 1,600 (5:13.26), Maus in the 3,200 (12:02.62), Holt in the 110 hurdles (17.0), the 400 relay team of Carter Kuhn, Patel, Hutchins and Ethan Orahood (47.45), the 800 relay team of Foulk, Patel, Hutchins and Varner (1:36.94), Haiden Manns in the shot put (46-8) and discus (129-6), Jair Mundy in the high jump (5-4) and Kuhn in the pole vault (10-6).

Adding third-place efforts for the Chieftain boys were Scott in the 100 (11.52), May in the 400 (55.54), Marcel Collins in the 800 (2:23.56) and Taylor in the 3,200 (12:15.10).

Bellefontaine’s girls team was led by wins from Kylie Adams in the 100 hurdles (15.27), 300 hurdles (45.54) and long jump (17-1.25).

Also getting wins for the Lady Chiefs were the 1,600 relay team of Miabelle Zayas-Colon, Callie Shumaker, Adams and Kelsey Snapp (4:23.74), Snapp in the shot put (36-4), Alexis Robinson in the discus (109-0) and Harper Penhorwood in the pole vault (8-6).

Taking second were Kailyn Newman in the 1,600 (6:09.25), Shumaker in the 300 hurdles (49.37) and high jump (4-6) and Snapp in the discus (106-3).

Contributing third-place efforts for the BHS girls were Reniyah Brown in the 100 (13.83), Shumaker in the 100 hurdles (17.18), the 400 relay team of Brown, Ryann Gatchel, Parker Penhorwood and Claire McDaniel (57.99), the 800 relay team of Gatchel, Taylor McCafferty, Maddie Christman and McDaniel (2:07.68), Perri Neeld in the shot put (32-0) and Kaileigh Flora in the high jump (4-4).

For Ben Logan’s boys team, wins came from Mason Jackson in the discus (PR of 136-6), Carter Daniels in the pole vault (PR of 12-6), Trevor Berry in the long jump (PR of 19-6.25), the 800 relay team of Hunter Lattimer, Yale Scheiderer, Ben Chamberlain and Sam Whitten (1:36.11), the 400 relay team of Lattimer, Berry, Chamberlain and Whitten (46.22) and Scheiderer in the 110 hurdles (16.70).

Finishing second for the BL boys were Matthew Beikman and Roman Maxwell (tie) in the high jump (5-4), the 3,200 relay team of Eric Hughes, Landon Zehner, Tyler Shoopman and Kendahl Stanley (9:18.58), Whitten in the 100 (11.30), Scheiderer in the 300 hurdles (44.34) and Whitten in the 200 (23.48).

Adding third-place efforts for the Raiders were Jackson in the shot put (43-11.5), Carpenter in the pole vault (10-4), Ethan Miller in the long jump (17-9.5), Carter Buck in the 110 hurdles (17.40) and the 300 hurdles (44.52) and Lattimer in the 200 (24.44).

Ben Logan’s girls team was sparked by wins from Isabel Henderson in the 100 (13.01) and 400 (1:01.14).

Also getting a win for the Raiders was Peyton Smith in the 1,600 (6:06.05).

Taking second for the Lady Raiders were the 3,200 relay team of Lexi Archer, Estella Wenger, Mylee Boysel and Smith (11:03.69), Kate Gulick in the 100 hurdles (16.95), Kate Vickroy in the 100 (14.57), the 800 relay team of Lahna Cook, Mya Burrey, Macy Matthews and Ella Chamberlain (1:56.91), the 400 relay team of Gulick, Hannah White, Matthews and Burrey (53.45), Chamberlain in the 400 (1:07.44), the 1,600 relay team of Chamberlain, Gulick, Matthews and Burrey (4:33.34), Alanna Gibson in the shot put (32-04), Henderson in the long jump (16-04.25) and Scarlett Elliott in the pole vault (8-0).

Adding third-place efforts for the Raiders were Gibson in the discus (101-10), Vickroy in the pole vault (7-6), White in the 200 (28.84), Elliott in the 800 (2:50.49), Gulick in the 300 hurdles (52.36) and Mylee Boysel in the 400 (1:08.17).

IL girls first, boys third at Hardin Northern

Indian Lake sent part of its track and field teams to Hardin Northern four a quad meet Tuesday.

The Laker girls finished first and the boys were third.

Placing first for the Lady Lakers were Ava Faler in High Jump (4-6) and pole vault (7-0), Maddie Miller in the discus (98-0) and shot put (30-11.75), Reagan Rash in the 800 (2:47) and 1,600 (6:16), Cambria Tuttle in the 300 hurdles (1:01) and Cameron Finfrock in the 400 (1:08).

Winning relays for the Laker girls were the 3,200 relay of Rash, Wagner, Finfrock and Tuttle (11:50), the 400 relay of Augusta Biederman, Ross, Sylie Reaves and Addison Beck (57.81) and the 1,600 relay team of Rash, Wagner, Biederman and Ross (4:53).

Placing second for the Lakers were Evie Wagner in the 800 (3:01) and 1,600 (6:30), Riley Ross in the long jump (13-10.5), Finfrock in the 200 (29.71) and Mara Bihn in the 100 hurdles (21.63) and 300 hurdles (1:02).

The 800 relay team of Ross, Finfrock, Tuttle and Faler placed second (2:05).
Finishing in third for the IL girls was Tuttle in the long jump (13-4).

Indian Lake’s boys team was led by Gavin Henry, who was first in the 110 hurdles (18.55) and first in the 300 hurdles (51.7). He also took second in the high jump (5-4).
Draden Stevenson was second in the 100 m dash (12.11).

Taking second in the relay events were the 1,600 relay of Drake Crosby, Kade Richardson, Noah Shirk and Stevenson (4:06), the 400 relay team of Shirk, Weston Cambell, Caleb Timms and Richardson (51.65) and the 800 relay team of Mohler, Richardson, Shirk and Holbrook (1:45).

The Lakers’ 3,200 relay team of Mohler, Daniel Wahl, Holbrook and Kelly finished third (11:04).
