The Bellefontaine High School varsity boys bowling team turned in a strong performance but came up just short Tuesday, falling to Northwestern 2,684–2,622 in a closely contested match.
Leading the Chiefs was Alex Moon, who posted games of 193 and 226 for a team-high 419 series. Alex Williams followed with consistent efforts of 199 and 191 for a 390 series, while Colton Wisner added games of 191 and 194 for a 385 series. Paul “Van” La Follette also provided a highlight for Bellefontaine with a 211 game.
In baker play, the Chiefs stayed competitive throughout, rolling games of 182, 167, 214, and 211 to finish with a 774 baker series.
The Bellefontaine JV boys were also in action but fell 2,486–1,876. Timmy Phillips led the JV squad with games of 152 and 151 for a 303 series. Christian Bollack followed closely with games of 143 and 157 for a 300 series. Jaelin Saxton rolled a 145 game, Corbin Stachler added a 141, and Elijah Shurelds contributed a 131.
Bellefontaine will return to the lanes at home on Dec. 29, hosting the BHS Classic Tournament at TP Lanes.
