Bellefontaine’s baseball team clipped Northwestern 4-3 on Sunday in a Central Buckeye Conference game played at Day Air Ballpark, the home of the minor league team Dayton Dragons.
The Chiefs are now 12-8 overall and 9-7 in the CBC.
Northwestern scored twice in the first inning for a 2-0 lead.
The Chiefs jumped in front in the third inning, scoring all four of their runs for a 4-2 lead.
Northwestern added a run in the fourth to make it 4-3, but Bellefontaine was able to hang on the rest of the way to get the win.
Keyon Collier went 2-3 with three RBI, Riley Neer went 2-3 and Lane Reeves went 2-4 to lead the Chieftain offense.
Luke LeVan earned the win on the mound for the Chiefs. He allowed one earned run on five hits, struck out six and did not walk a batter.
Reeves worked a perfect seventh inning, recording three strikeouts, to get the win.
Bellefontaine plays at Miami East in a non-league game today.

Tigers drop OHC game to West Jeff
Host West Jefferson used a late-game surge to put away West Liberty-Salem 9-4 in an Ohio Heritage Conference baseball game Monday.
The Tigers are now 10-7 overall and 8-5 in the OHC. The Roughriders improve to 16-5, 13-3.
The game was tied 1-1 after two innings and it stayed that way until the bottom of the fifth, when the hosts plated a run to take a 2-1 lead.
WL-S scored twice in the top of the sixth to jump ahead 3-2.
However, the Roughriders put up seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to grab a 9-3 advantage.
The Tigers came up with one run in the top of the seventh, but could get no closer.
Jayden Temple went 2-4 , Eli Allen had a triple , Isaac Sertell had a double and Payton Knight had a pair of hits for the Tigers at the plate.
WL-S is back in action Wednesday at Greenon.
