Charles Richard ‘Dick’ Foote

Charles Richard “Dick” Foote, 81, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 7:43 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Green Hills Center in West Liberty, Ohio. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on March 19, 1942, a son of the late Charles Arthur and Laura Jeannette (Prall) Foote.

On June 8, 1963, Dick married Bonnie Rose (Call) Foote in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and she survives, along with their two daughters, Shawn (John) James, and Stephanie (Bill) Timberlake; a son, Shane (Denise) Foote; nine grandchildren, Brittany (Trey) Shropshire, Cole Richard James, Lyndsay (Travis) Ropp, Heather (Tarren) Cozad, Conner Foote, Cameron Foote, Caitlin Foote, Logan Timberlake, and Rylee Timberlake; 11 great grandchildren, Aydon Walton, Piper Walton, Kassius Shropshire, Braelyn James, Holden James, Elliegrace James, Eva Belle Ropp, Maddix Ropp, Blakely Ropp, Jaxon Cozad, and Mya Cozad; two brothers, John (Gloria) Foote, and Tom (Cheryl) Foote; a very special cousin, Karen (Ed) Eason; and several nieces and nephews.

Dick had worked in upper retail management for Sears. He was a member of Hi-Point Church of Christ in Bellefontaine, and was very involved in the Emmaus community after his retirement. Dick most enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Dick had an unwavering passion for Jesus. He dedicated his life to serving him and spreading the Gospel.  When Dick gave his life to Jesus he said “he wanted to spend his whole life helping to mend broken people.” Dick wanted everyone to know Jesus died and rose again for their sins. Dick accomplished all that the Lord wanted him to do. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at Hi-Point Church of Christ, 1815 State Route 540 in Bellefontaine, where Pastor John James will officiate a memorial service at 1 p.m.
