Charles Hickey, 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Springview Manor in Lima, Ohio.
Charles was born on April 14, 1940 in Chester, Indiana, to Ralph Walter and Helen (Love) Hickey.
Charles served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War as a linguist and also taught Chinese. He then went on to teach English in California and Michigan after earning a PHD in English.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy Trout of Marysville, Ohio; brother, Terry Hickey of Largo, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Loraine Goodman; and brothers: Ralph Jr., Thomas, Jeffery, and John Hickey.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 10, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Lima. Father David Ross will officiate. Burial in Dayton National Cemetery will be at a later date.
