Chamber’s Stars in Business honored Wednesday night

The Logan County Chamber of Commerce is preparing to celebrate the people, businesses and organizations that make Logan County shine. 

The annual Stars in Business Night of Recognition is set for Wednesday evening, Nov. 5, at the Holland Theatre. 

A social half hour begins at 5 p.m., and the program begins at 5:30 p.m. An after party is planned for 7:15 p.m. at The Syndicate, 213 S. Main St.

“This special evening is all about celebrating success, community and the incredible spirit that makes Logan County such a great place to live, work, and grow,” chamber officials said. “Each year, the Logan County Chamber of Commerce recognizes outstanding local businesses and leaders with our Stars in Business Awards — and this year’s honorees are nothing short of inspiring.”

Here’s a look at this year’s award winners: 

• Richard J. Rupp Leadership Award — Joan Haushalter; The annual Richard J. Rupp Leadership Award is presented to the person who has made a significant impact in Logan County with their outstanding leadership skills. This person will be recognized for their commitment, vision and dedication to the community. 

• Integrity in Business Award — Darin Olson, Edward Jones Investments; The Integrity in Business Award is given to a business that provides a quality product or service, operates with the highest level of honesty, and has earned the trust of the Logan County community. 

• Entrepreneurs of the Year — Humberto Nieto & Laura Haverkos; The Entrepreneurs of the Year Award is presented to individuals who have made a significant investment in and impact on economic development in Logan County. 

• Small Business of the Year — West Ohio Tool Co.; The Small Business of the Year Award is presented to an established Logan County business that has demonstrated growth, profitability and civic involvement.

• Young Professional of the Year — Nick Davis; The Young Professional of the Year Award is given to an individual between the ages of 20 and 40 who has devoted significant time to improve the quality of life of others through community service and is actively developing leadership skills in themselves and others.

• Nonprofit of the Year — Raising Arrows; The Nonprofit Organization of the Year Award is given to an agency that shows dedication to improving lives and strengthening our community through the use of volunteers and local resources to demonstrate the generosity found throughout Logan County. 

• Max Evans Tourism Award — Rebekah Smith; The Logan County Visitors Bureau awards the Max Evans Tourism Award annually to the person or organization who exhibits hospitality to visitors to our community and for working to promote Logan County attractions. 

Tickets are $35 per person, which includes hors d’oeuvres at the Holland Theatre and pizza with one complimentary drink at the Stars in Business After Party event at The Syndicate.
