Carol Jeannette Mitchell Wisse, 83, widow of Jerry Lee Wisse, died Friday, November 17, 2023. Born April 13, 1940, in Dayton, OH, she was a daughter of the late Wellington Hoyt Mitchell and the late Ruth Celia Shawhan Mitchell.
She was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Manning, SC, and the Rhoda Circle.
Carol lived by faith, family and football, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes.
She is survived by three children, Tammy Guthrie (Mike) of Rushsylvania, OH, Brenda Richardson of Summerton, S.C., and Todd Wisse (Joanna) of Bellefontaine, OH; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Miller of Bellefontaine, OH; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Roger and Carol Jo Horne of Summerton.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Varner; and a son-in-law, Dave Richardson.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, at High Point Church of Christ, 1815 State Route 540, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
