Former Bellefontaine baseball coach Mark Brunswick will be formally inducted into the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association (OHSBCA) Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026 during the association’s annual induction ceremony later this year.
The Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony is scheduled to take place 12:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at the Hilton at Easton, 3900 Chagrin Drive, Columbus, in conjunction with the OHSBCA’s annual clinic and awards weekend.

Brunswick is one of five coaches selected for the Class of 2026, joining Tim Broskie (Whetstone), Brent Renollet (Delta/Tinora), John Sarver (Buchtel/Kenmore/Hoban/Ellet), and Kevin Yoder (Berlin Hiland/Coshocton/Tri-Valley).
Over a coaching career that spanned multiple decades, Brunswick recorded more than 500 career victories, leading programs at Bellefontaine, Marysville, and Lehman Catholic. He earned a reputation for consistent competitiveness, strong player development, and an approach to coaching that emphasized fundamentals, discipline, and respect for the game.
His induction also carries special significance within Ohio baseball circles due to his connection to the storied Lou Brunswick coaching tree. That lineage now includes a record five OHSBCA Hall of Fame inductees:
• Lou Brunswick — 750 career wins
• Trent Dues — 649 wins
• Greg Wilker — 644 wins
• Brian Harlamert — 531 wins
• Mark Brunswick — 502 wins
Lou Brunswick, a co-founder of ACME Baseball and a highly influential figure in the sport, passed away in 2022. His impact continues through the coaches he mentored and the generations of players shaped by that philosophy.
In recent years, Brunswick has also shared his perspective on the evolution of high school baseball, coaching philosophy, and player development in an Inside Pitch magazine article that was later featured by the Bellefontaine Examiner, offering insight into how the game has changed — and what has remained constant — over his career.
The OHSBCA Hall of Fame honors coaches who have demonstrated excellence, longevity, and a lasting contribution to high school baseball in Ohio. Brunswick’s formal induction this year places him among the most accomplished and influential coaches in state history.
