Engaged at Indian Lake, couple brings their love story back to Logan County

Broadway actress Libby Servais (“Wicked”) and her husband Stephan Stubbins (“Mary Poppins”) present their two-person show and love story with local ties, Broadway In Love, at the Holland Theatre this weekend.
With their performance set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, the show opens the theater’s 2024-2025 Holland Presents season.
Servais and Stubbins, both originally from Ohio, got engaged on a trip to Indian Lake in 2018. Since then, they’ve gotten married, had a child and toured their show to theaters across the United States.
Broadway In Love is a musical celebration of Broadway’s most hilarious and captivating songs. It is woven together with stories of the couple’s Broadway careers and their real-life love story. The show includes songs from “Wicked,” “South Pacific,” “Frozen,” “My Fair Lady,” and “Phantom of the Opera,” as well as music made famous by Dolly Parton, Billy Joel, Carole King, Neil Diamond and more.
“This performance is going to be extra special, having shared one of the most important weekends of our life right here in Logan County,” said Stubbins. “Be prepared to be swept away with the stories, the music, the laughter, the magical moments and the collective spirit of fun as we get you clapping and singing along with the best of Broadway’s greatest hits.”
Stubbins and Servais will be joined onstage by a live three-piece band.
Servais was most recently seen on Broadway in “Wicked,” floating in the bubble as Glinda. She also performed the role with the National Tour and San Francisco company and was featured on NBC’s “A Very Wicked Halloween” TV special.
Additionally, Servais was in the original Broadway cast of “Lysistrata Jones.” Her off-Broadway and regional favorites include “The Magnificent Seven” (Dominique Moceanu), “Chicago” (Roxie) and “Legally Blonde” (Elle Woods), for which she was honored as a Broadway World award winner for Best Actress in a Musical.
Stubbins’ professional performing career has been highlighted by his time on Broadway in “Mary Poppins,” in the pre- Broadway world premiere of the musical “Memphis,” singing an opening act solo for Frank Sinatra, headlining an opening act for Rita Moreno and working with artist legends on and off stage including Dick Van Dyke, Kristin Chenoweth, Ben Vereen, Conan O’Brien and more. He is also the co-founder of the Broadway Under the Stars concert series in wine country, California.
