The Holland Theatre is kicking off the New Year with three shows for all musical tastes.
Corey Harris and Cedric Watson present “True Blues” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13.
Harris is a MacArthur Grant recipient, and Watson is one of Louisiana’s foremost purveyors of Creole music and culture. “True Blues” chronicles the extraordinary living culture of the blues in an evening of music and conversation.
Next up is “An Evening with Darin & Brooke Aldridge” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, where the husband and wife duo share harmony-filled bluegrass and gospel. Real Roots Radio sponsors the show.
The award-winning Americana pair has toured the world and played the Opry 50 plus times. With gospel roots, distinctive singing, commanding instrumental skills and accomplished songwriting, Darin and Brooke maintain their easy-going, down-to-earth connection with audiences everywhere.
Finally, Dallas String Quartet takes the stage Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m., with “Strings Unleashed.”
Not your typical string quartet concert, this brand new rock fusion show features electric covers of classic rock hits from Led Zeppelin, Metallica, AC/DC, Journey, Guns N’ Roses and Bon Jovi and more.
Tickets for all shows are available at TheHolland.org/tickets or through the box office, (937) 592-9002. Contact the box office for group discounts and youth ticket pricing.
The Holland Presents series continues in February with the hilarious Couples Therapy Feb. 9; a free showing of the classic romance Titanic on Feb. 14; and Moana JR., starring local middle schoolers, presented Feb. 16 and 17.
