Tristan Sheets, Benjamin Logan High School junior, competed Saturday, Jan. 27, in the Western Ohio Winter Regional History Bee at Tippecanoe High School, and as a result of his efforts, has qualified for the upcoming national competition.
The regional bee is an individual competition focused on history and featuring other high school students in the area, including students from Tippecanoe, Northmont and Fisher Catholic.
A son of Kris and Renae Sheets of Belle Center, Tristan placed seventh out of 18 students, earning a bid into the National History Bee National Championships at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va., Sunday, April 28.
He was the top competitor from a public small school in the competition.
