Bikers for Santa continues tradition of giving back with Oct. 7 ride

The fifth annual Logan County Bikers for Santa Toy Run is slated for Saturday, Oct. 7, starting at the Bellefontaine Moose Lodge, 912 S. Detroit St., and ending at Desperado’s, 6857 Lima St., Huntsville.

To date, this event has raised more than $30,000 in new toys and cash donations for Lutheran Community Services to be used for their Christmas assistance program. Organizers note that “every penny stays in Logan County to help Logan County residents.”

The entry fee for the ride is $10 per person or a new, unwrapped toy of equal value.

The day begins at 9 a.m. at the Moose Lodge and includes a DJ, food for purchase, multiple raffles and free pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The motorcycle ride departs at 11 a.m. and travels along an approximately 40-mile route, ending at Desperado’s.

Once at Desperado’s, paid participants attendees enjoy a free smoked pork meal, musical entertainment, raffles and other activities.

Non-motorcycles also are welcome and encouraged to join the event at Desperado’s starting at 1 p.m. Participants can enjoy the same activities as the riders with a donation of $10 or a new, unwrapped toy.
