Betty Catherine Stanfield, 103, formerly of Rushsylvania, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 5, 2023, at the Homestead at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine. Her life was all about family and loving God. Her favorite enjoyments were knitting, crocheting, and reading her Bible.

She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on December 23, 1919, the daughter of the late Charles S. and Myrtia A. (Hatcher) Johnson.

On August 22, 1941, she married Robert Lewis Stanfield in Rushsylvania, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on August 24, 2001.

She is survived by a son, Robert Charles “Bob” (Beverly) Stanfield of Rushsylvania, OH, two daughters, Joyce (Dr. Dave) Boyer of Prescot, AZ and Jane (Terry) Humble of Belle Center, OH and, eight grandchildren: Scott Stanfield and Charles Stanfield, both of Rushsylvania, Adam (Karen) Boyer of Copley, OH, Drew (Johanna) Boyer of Worthington, OH, Nathan (Kimberly) Boyer of Prescott, AZ, Matt Humble and Lance (Melissa) Humble, both of Belle Center, OH, and Steve (Ana) Humble of Temecula, CA, great grandchildren: Ariana & Liam Boyer, Lena and Elise Boyer, Hannah, Caleb, Jacob, and Abigail Boyer, Hank Humble, Arthur Kalel and Lily Jane Humble, Kelsey, Kamryn, and Kolbie Stanfield.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donald Johnson.

Betty was a 1938 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and worked as a homemaker.  She was a longtime member of the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women and the Kings Daughters Rhoda Circle.

Pastor April Phillips will officiate a graveside funeral service in Rushsylvania Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023.
