Bellefontaine Elementary School hosted its first Chieftain Leader ceremony of the school year earlier this month.
Students in grades PreK-2 were recognized for following the B-Block pledge — to be safe, be respectful, and be a learner — each day.
Bellefontaine Police Department Chief Chris Marlow presented each recipient with their award.
Each student rang a bell after receiving their award and received a T-shirt.
The ceremony is conducted after each nine-week grading period. It’s the sixth year for the program at BES.
Recipients are: pre-K students Carter Jackson, Orville Pope, Oliver Meyer and Emilia Doup; kindergartners Emery Cauley, Nova Baldauf, Willow Jarrell, Gianna Dinovo, Quinn LaBatt, Haisley Godwin and Jeffrey Salmons; first-graders Lucy Peak, Kaydence Collier, Elnora Smith, Vaileen Valencia, Emmarae Worrell, Bailey Foulk and Kris Scheiderer; second-graders Isaiah Shurelds, Ella Jenkins, Savannah Heritage, Bryor Trout, Landyn Steed, Alexa Casanas, Max Noe and Aubree Lewis.
