TROY — The postseason always brings intensity, and Saturday night at Troy High School was no exception.
No. 10 seed Ben Logan battled past No. 7 seed Dunbar, grinding out a hard-fought 43–40 victory in the opening round of the Division IV tournament.
The Lady Raiders relied on balance and defense to secure the win, with six players contributing in the scoring column. Ben Logan carried a narrow 27–25 advantage into halftime after a physical and competitive first half.
Dunbar responded coming out of the locker room, outscoring the Raiders 12–7 in the third quarter to seize a 37–34 lead heading into the final period. Momentum appeared to shift in favor of the Wolverines — but Ben Logan wasn’t finished.
The Raiders clamped down defensively in the fourth quarter, holding Dunbar to just three points over the final eight minutes. That defensive stand proved decisive as Ben Logan closed the game with poise to secure the three-point tournament win.
Adilynne Gregg led the Lady Raiders with 13 points, while Kylie Harner and Daylin Varner each added eight points in the balanced offensive effort.
With the victory, Ben Logan advances to face top-seeded Archbishop Alter High School in a semifinal matchup scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. at Troy High School.
