Benjamin Logan Local Schools honors the exceptional work and dedication of the district’s School Resource Officers Rick Herring, Neill Rhodes and Matt Robinson in celebration of Ohio School Safety Month during October.

Each day, these officers serve as protectors, role models and leaders within the district, creating environments where students can feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Their presence and positive influence extend beyond the hallways — they are a visible reminder of our commitment to fostering a safe and welcoming community for every student and staff member.

“The role of our SROs goes far beyond safety and security,” shared Superintendent John Scheu. “They actively contribute to building positive relationships and mentoring students, while also providing valuable guidance on safety and prevention. We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated officers at Benjamin Logan.”

At Benjamin Logan Local Schools, the impact of these officers is felt throughout the entire community. Whether responding swiftly to incidents, offering mentorship, or educating students on important safety topics, Officers Herring, Rhodes and Robinson embody what it means to be true partners in our students’ educational journeys, school officials said.

During School Safety Month, the district expressed its heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering commitment and incredible service provided by Officers Herring, Rhodes and Robinson, which strengthens the bonds of trust between law enforcement, students and staff.

“We feel fortunate to have Rick, Neill, and Matt as part of the Benjamin Logan family,” added Director of Administrative Services Sally Stolly. “Their leadership and guidance are invaluable to creating an environment where students feel supported and safe.”
