The quick thinking Monday of a Benjamin Logan school district bus driver prevented potential injury to student-passengers after a fire started under the hood of the bus.

Jennifer Noble was pulling Bus #25 into the school parking lot when she reportedly smelled smoke, according to information from the school district.

After immediately evacuating all the students from the back of the bus, she opened the hood and found flames coming from the engine compartment.

Noble grabbed the fire extinguisher and quickly put out the fire, which reportedly was ignited by an animal’s nest that was lodged under the wiring and acted as kindling for the blaze.

“Those are my kids on the bus and my only thought was to get them off the bus immediately,” Noble said.

No students were injured. Noble was taken by private vehicle to Urgent Care for observation for smoke inhalation.

“Jennifer Noble is being hailed as a hero for her courage, nerves of steel and bravery,” the school district reported.
