Ben Logan blitzes Hillclimbers 23-1

Benjamin Logan overpowered host Urbana with 22 hits on Wednesday as the Raiders cruised to a 23-1 five-inning victory in Central Buckeye Conference play.

Ben Logan is now 6-2 overall and 4-2 in the CBC. Urbana drops to 1-8, 0-6.

The Raiders led 4-0 after two innings and then piled up 17 runs in the third to lead 21-0.

Jillian Plikerd went 4-5 with two doubles and four RBI, Elliott Bailey went 3-3 with a double and three RBI and Skylar Miracle went 2-2 with a triple and two RBI to help fuel the Ben Logan bats.

Also for the Raiders, Rhea Harner was 3-5 with an RBI, Kyah Moore was 4-5 with a double and two RBI, Kenzee Roseburrough was 3-5 with a double and three RBI and Bailee Stover added two RBI.

Moore was the winning pitcher. She allowed just one hit, struck out eight and walked three.

The Raiders travel to Tecumseh on Friday.

Lakers zap Warriors

Indian Lake beat Northwestern for the second time in three days Wednesday with a 12-2 six-inning victory over the host Warriors in Central Buckeye Conference softball action.

The Lakers are now 10-1 overall and 5-1 in the CBC. Northwestern moves to 3-5, 2-4.

Indian Lake led 5-0 after three innings and added two runs in the fifth for a 7-0 advantage.

The Lakers put five runs on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth to lead 12-0.

Northwestern scored both of its runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Indian Lake collected 17 hits on the day.

Abigail Elliott went 3-4 with a home run and two RBI, Halle Roby went 3-4 with a double and two RBI, Katie Roby was 2-4 with two doubles and an RBI, Madison Brentlinger went 3-4 with a double and an RBI, Porscha Davis was 2-4, Mackenzie Dixon was 2-4 with a double and three RBI and Hannah Marlow added a double for the Lakers.

Brentlinger was the winning pitcher. She allowed four hits and struck out four in five innings of work.

The Lakers host Wapakoneta today.

Pioneers oust Chiefs

Host Jonathan Alder took advantage of six Bellefontaine errors and had 13 hits to beat the Chiefs 13-3 in six innings in a Central Buckeye Conference softball game Wednesday.

The Chiefs fall to 4-6 overall and 2-4 in the CBC. The Pioneers improve to 11-0, 6-0.

Alder jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one inning.

The Chiefs scored two runs in the top of the third before the Pioneers plated two runs in the bottom of the third to lead 8-2.

Bellefontaine scored its final run in the top of the sixth, and the hosts then scored five times in the bottom of the inning to put the game away.

Emma Crabtree went 3-3 to lead the BHS offense. Ellie Mitchell was 2-4 with a double and Rianna Fullerton added two RBI.

The Chiefs play at Jackson Center today.

Tigers top Triad

West Liberty-Salem’s softball team won 9-3 over host Triad in an Ohio Heritage Conference game Wednesday.

The Tigers improve to 2-7 overall and 2-5 in the OHC. The Cardinals fall to 0-7, 0-7.

Triad led 3-1 after five innings, but the Tigers scored eight runs in the sixth inning to take control.

Brittany Neer went 3-5 with a double to spark the Tigers at the plate. Briley Sullivan was 2-4 with a double and three RBI, Whitney Strapp went 2-4 with two doubles, Audrey Collins was 2-5 with an RBI, Ava Buck had two RBI and Kennedy Wallace added two hits.

Wallace went all seven innings to get the win in the pitching circle.

The Cardinals return to action today at Southeastern, while the Tigers play again Friday at Greenon.
