Bellefontaine’s boys tennis team wrapped up a season sweep of Jonathan Alder on Tuesday as the Chiefs won 3-2 in a Central Buckeye Conference match.
Bellefontaine is now 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the CBC. The Pioneers fall to 7-4, 5-3.
The Chiefs won two of the three singles matches.
Truman Howell recorded a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Owen Hecht at first singles, while Xavier Sims beat Isaac Banks 6-4, 6-2 at second singles.
The Pioneers’ Josh Weakley won over Garrett Brede 6-2, 6-0 at third singles.
Bellefontaine’s other win came from the first doubles team of Drew Phillips and Trey Taylor. They beat Cade Baker and Gideon Sullivan 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
At second doubles, the Pioneers’ Phil Scott and Drew Corbitt defeated Elias Abrego and Bryce Harris 6-2, 6-3.
The Chiefs are back in action Thursday at home against Urbana.
