Bellefontaine’s girls swim team finished second out of 20 teams Saturday at the Trotwood Sprint Invitational.
Versailles won the girls meet with 273.5 points, Bellefontaine had 244 points and Wayne was third with 170.5 points.
Benjamin Logan’s girls team took sixth with 96 points and Indian Lake was ninth with 64 points.
For the Lady Chiefs, the 200 medley relay team of Sarah Fulmer, Sarah Starkey, Abby Kite and Samantha Starkey finished first.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Sarah Fulmer, Joslyn Robinson, Sarah Starkey and Abby Kite finished second overall and first in the evening session.
Also for the BHS girls, Sarah Fulmer was first in the 100 freestyle and second in the 50 backstroke, Sarah Starkey placed first in the 100 individual medley and first in the 50 breaststroke, Kite was second in the 100 butterfly and eighth in the 100 individual medley, Robinson was ninth in the 100 individual medley and 12th in the 50 breaststroke, Maddi Jackson was ninth in the 50 backstroke, Samantha Starkey finished 13th in the 100 individual medley and fifth in the 50 backstroke, the 200 medley B relay team of Robinson, Alyvia Steggeman, Jackson and Olivia Ullom finished 11th and the 200 freestyle B relay team of Jackson, Olivia Eader, Samantha Starkey and Ullom was 12th.
For the Ben Logan girls, the 200 freestyle relay team of Junette Ly, Gabrielle Schmidt, Aliya Pelger and Annika Simovart placed fifth, the 200 medley relay team of Ly, Schmidt, Pelger and Simovart finished seventh, Simovart placed fifth in the 100 individual medley and ninth in the 50 butterfly, Ly was ninth in the 100 freestyle and Schmidt was 14th in the 50 freestyle and ninth in the 50 breaststroke.
Indian Lake was led by its 200 freestyle relay team of Kassidy Crockett, Ella Wagner, Lily Jenkins and Ashlyn Shaner. That group was eighth in a school-record time of 2:03.44
The 200 medley relay team of Crockett, Wagner, Jenkins and Macie Robinson was 12th in a school-record time of 2:23.13, Wagner was eighth in the 50 breaststroke and 13th in the 50 butterfly and Jenkins was 13th in the 50 butterfly.
BOYS RESULTS
Versailles won the boys meet with 295 points, Fairfield was second with 282 and Dayton Christian took third with 166.
Locally, Indian Lake was eighth with 69 points, Bellefontaine was ninth with 67 points and Ben Logan was 10th with 60 points.
Ryan Braig paced the Lakers, finishing third in the 100 freestyle and fifth in the 50 butterfly.
The team of Caden Paavola, Lane McPherson, Braig and Reid Vance placed eighth in the 200 medley relay and 10th in the 200 freestyle relay. McPherson added a 14th-place finish in the 100 breaststroke.
Jared Salyer led the Chiefs with a sixth-place finish in the 50 butterfly and a seventh-place finish in the 50 backstroke, the 200 freestyle relay team of Christian Keene, Lucas Harrington, Quinton Bible and Salyer finished eighth, the 200 medley relay team of Keene, Salyer, Harrington and Bible was 10th, Keene was 14th in the 100 freestyle and 17th in the 50 freestyle and Bible was 15th in the 50 backstroke.
For Ben Logan, Carter Rees was eighth in the 50 butterfly and ninth in the 100 freestyle, Max Leezer was sixth in the 50 breaststroke and 16th in the 50 freestyle, Jacon McKenrick was 12th in the 50 breaststroke, Kelvin Ong was 15th in the 50 breaststroke and the 200 freestyle relay team of Leezer, McKenrick, Ong and Rees was ninth in a team-record time of 1:45.93.
