Bellefontaine girls, Chiefs’ Pierce qualify for bowling districts

The Bellefontaine girls bowling team finished fifth at the Division I sectional tournament on Wednesday.
It was held at Poelking Woodman Lanes in Kettering.
The top 10 teams advanced to districts, along with individual qualifiers. Northmont finished in first place with 3,712 pins.
Bellefontaine had 2,553 pins in three regulation games and 975 in the six Baker games. Their overall total was 3,528.
Gracie Hood of the Lady Chieftains led with a 663 series (218-214-231) and was second overall. Nevaeh LaFollette had a 582 (177-204-201), Chloe Heminger had 562 (171-151-240). Avery Mullins had games of 142 and 179, Rylee Anderson had a 113 game. Also participating were Haylee Yelton and Isabelle Gunnett.
Individual qualifiers were Izzy Schneider and Mati Vlcek of Chaminade Julienne, Miranda Sweetman of Piqua, Stella Sharp and Jackie Weitz of Archbishop Carroll, Sierra Landis of Fairborn, Morgan Wolbers and Alyssa Lunsford of Tippecanoe, Katie Hatfield of Centerville and Annabelle Jackson of Stebbins.
The district tournament is next Friday in Beavercreek.

The top 10 teams advanced to districts, led by Beavercreek with 4,702 pins.
The Chieftains had 3,544 pins overall, with 2,573 in three regulation games and 971 in six Baker games.
Rory Pierce had a 594 series (209-204-181) and qualified as an individual.
Alex Moon had a 558 (172-217-169), followed by Alex Williams with 502 (161-178-163). Colton Wisner had a 172 game, Eli Stone had a 160, and Paul LaFollette had a 159. Others in action were Jaelin Saxton and Jacob Lynch.

The Benjamin Logan girls bowling team finished 11th and West Liberty-Salem 15th at the Division II districts on Wednesday at Beaver-Vu Lanes in Beavercreek.
The top four teams advanced to the state tournament. They were Versailles, Fort Recovery, Graham and Urbana.
The Lady Raiders had a total of 2,932 pins. They got 2,090 in regular games and 842 in Baker games.
Aubrey Zedlitz had the high series of 453 (143-145-165), followed by Lorali Klopfenstein with 437 (155-136-146), Maddy Hamm at 425 (111-140-174), Kaelyn Corwin with 410 (141-141-128), and Hunter McColloch with games of 104 and 156.
West Liberty-Salem’s overall total was 2,832. That included 2,017 in regular games and 815 in Baker games.
Alyssa Mueller had the high series at 501 (169-155-177). Next was Elli Ullery with 445 (150-155-140), Sadie Paul with 442 (133-178-131), Lilly Gearheart with 328 (134-110-84), and Kathy Roehm with games of 108 and 110.
Addison Castle of Indian Lake had a 429 series with games of 133, 142 and 154.
