Bees sting Lady Pirates

Basketball b 300Riverside’s girls basketball team could not cool off a hot Bethel squad on Monday as the host Bees won 59-20 in a Three Rivers Conference game.

Bethel remains in first place in the TRC with a 13-0 league mark. The Bees are now 16-4 overall.

Riverside drops to 6-14, 3-10.

Bethel grabbed the momentum early, taking a 19-6 lead after one period.

The Bees led 34-8 at halftime and 49-10 after three quarters.

Ayva Stewart led the Pirates with 11 points. Reaghan McDaniel added three points.
Karlee Moore scored a game-high 23 points to power the Bees.

In the junior varsity game, Riverside lost 35-24. Kaylee Fulkerson had 11 points and Riley Dillon recorded seven rebounds for the Pirates.

Riverside is back in action Thursday at home against Milton-union.
