Ms. Barbara (Sutherland) Goodrich, age 93, of New Albany, Ohio, entered this life on January 8, 1931, in New Albany, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late William and Inez Marie (Geiske) Sutherland. She was raised in New Albany and Vevay, Indiana, and graduated from New Albany High School. 

Barbara received her associate’s degree from a business college in Chicago. Barbara was united in marriage to George W. Goodrich in Bexley, Ohio. As an actress, she performed on several television programs in Columbus, Ohio for several years, had her own radio show called “For Ladies Only” and was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed reading her bible, acting, painting, and completing crossword puzzles. 

Barbara passed away with her loving family by her side at 3:57 a.m., Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Smith’s Mill Health Campus in New Albany, Ohio.

Barbara will be missed by her daughters, Alice Fachman and her husband, David and their son Cameron of New Albany, OH and Martha Hughes and her husband, Ralph and their children Lauren, Peyton, Evan of Hickory, NC; her sons, Eric Wong and his wife, Lorrie and their children Amber, Heather of Indiana and George W. Goodrich, Jr. and his wife, April and their children Christian, Hayley, Ethan of Lilburn, GA; her grandchildren Brandie (Rob), Michelle, Josh, Elizabeth; her several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her brother, William Sutherland and his wife, Betty of Milford, OH and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Inez Marie (Geiske) Sutherland; her beloved daughter, Janet (Clovis) Butterfield, died September 16, 2006 and her sisters, Jo S. Greeney, died October 10, 2010 and Patricia “Patsy” Joy Canny.

Her infectious smile and the sparkle in her piercing blue eyes will be missed by all who met her and especially by her loving caregivers at Smith’s Mill Health Campus and her beloved private care giver Hailee Bradford.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, November 29, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, November 29, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Fredonia Cemetery on Tapp’s Ridge Road in Vevay, Indiana. Rev. Mike Jones- Officiant.

A Reception will be held in Barbara’s honor immediately following the services at Fredonia Cemetery at The Belterra Resort- 777 Belterra Drive, Florence, Indiana 47020 (812) 427-7777.
