Barbara Beaudry, 91, of Zanesfield, passed away on December 23, 2023. She was born on August 2, 1932, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Maria Trisabel (Beatty) Hone.

On June 21, 1958, Barbara married Clarence Beaudry. Barbara and Clarence raised their family in Monroe, Michigan, Clarence’s hometown and where Barbara moved to pursue her teaching career. Clarence preceded Barbara in death in 2008, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, having returned to spend their retirement years in Barbara’s beloved Zanesfield. She often said, “You can take the girl out of the hills, but you can’t take the hills out of the girl.”

Barbara is survived by her daughters Sheree Beaudry (Dana Hansen), Susan Beaudry (Michael Graham), three granddaughters, Angela Beaudry, Ava Graham and Charlotte Graham who loved their Gram deeply, her youngest sister, Laura Lucas who she adored, and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Beaudry, brother Greydon Hone and two sisters, Carol Shreve and Martha Kay Hone.

Barbara received a bachelor’s degree in home economics education at Wittenberg University. A lifetime learner and seeker, she also earned credentials to teach world history and psychology. She was a beloved and admired teacher at St. Mary’s Academy in Monroe, Michigan, where she spent most of her teaching career. Upon her retirement from teaching, her talent for sewing and fabric art grew into a small business, creating heirloom clothing for infants and children.

Her life was marked by her care and love for her family, a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world, keen intelligence, and creative abilities. Memorial contributions may be made to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care, https://www.uhcinc.org/.
