Two public hearings concerning the Bellefontaine’s intention to annex and possibly rezone properties on opposite sides of the city have been scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, May 13, in the Bellefontaine City Council’s chambers prior to the council’s regular meeting.

The first hearing begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be to consider the annexation and zoning request by Jeremy LeVan Investments, LLC, concerning 46 acres located west of Ludlow Road, south of east Lake Avenue and east of Michigan Street to be annexed into the city and zoned as a R-3 Multi-Family Residence District.

The land is currently zoned R-1, low-density Single Family Detached Residence District. The Planning Commission’s recommendation is that the land, if annexed, should remain zoned as an R-1 District. The parcels in question are #15-107-05-08-001-000, #15-107-08-001-001, #15-107-05-08-001-002 & #17-107-05-07-009-000.

Then starting at 6:45 p.m., the second hearing concerns an annexation and rezoning request from representatives of Hodson Greendefine Blue Jacket, LLC, for just over 200 acres of property located north of the intersection of Township Road 217 and U.S. Route 33 and west of the C.C.C. & St. Louis railroad. The tracts are currently zoned Business District (B-1) and Unincorporated District (U-1) and the applicants are asking that the parcels be rezoned General Manufacturing District (M-2), with the Planning Commission recommending that if the city annexes the property, it should be zoned Single Family Detached (R-1).

The parcels in question are #15-077-00-00-037-000, #15-077-00-037-003, #16-077-00-00-012-000, #16-077-00-00-014-002 and #16-007-00-00-014-001.
