Aggressive driving leads to two-vehicle crash

Aggressive driving contributed to a two-vehicle crash that occurred around 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, along westbound State Route 47 near Township Road 33 in the area of Harrison Township.

Ronzle Boggs, 62, of DeGraff, reportedly brake-checked Walter Weaver, 52, also of DeGraff, that helped cause a rear-end collision on S.R. 347 just west of T.R. 33.

Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Weaver sped up quickly in his 2008 gray Chevy pickup at a rapid pace to prevent Boggs from passing him. Boggs then cut back over to the right lane in front of Weaver with the 2018 white Chevy Traverse he was driving and applied the brakes at a rapid pace, deputies said.

Weaver’s pickup truck struck the rear of the Boggs vehicle. Neither driver was able to provide a speed and both drivers blamed each other for the crash.

No citations were issued, as it could not be determined which motorist was at fault. Both drivers were equally responsible, law enforcement reported.

No injuries were reported. Damage was minor to the vehicles.
