Downed poles may delay restoration for Quincy-DeGraff area residents

A check of the AES Ohio power outage map about 5:35 a.m. Saturday, March 14, showed that about 1,874 Logan County residents were still without power following sustained high winds for much of the day Friday.
The utiliity’s by-county breakdown provived a lower number for Logan of 1,167, with a variety of factors affecting outage information data accuracy. Nearly 12,300 of the total 539,000 AES Ohio customers are without power at this time, according to AES.
Utility lines running from a substation located outside of Quincy were impacted Friday evening, with reports of nearly a dozen utility poles down along County Road 66 just south of Township Road 295.
The situation could delay efforts to restore electricity to portions of Quincy and DeGraff as crews continue to assess wind-related damage across Logan County.
Some 864 AES customers in the Quincy-DeGraff area still show being without electricity as of early Saturday morning.
AES social media posts following Friday’s high wind conditions indicated power restoration could take “days” for some affected customers.
