RTC officials shared this week that the agency has once again earned a three-year accreditation from Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities International, the highest level awarded by the organization. This accreditation reflects RTC’s ongoing commitment to providing quality, person-centered services.
RTC’s history with CARF goes back nearly five decades. The agency’s first accreditation was awarded in 1977, at a time when only eight facilities in the state of Ohio had achieved accreditation. That year, just 16 percent of organizations nationwide received a three-year certificate on their initial survey, making RTC’s early accreditation a noteworthy accomplishment.
CARF is an independent, nonprofit accreditor setting high, international standards for health and human services like aging, behavioral health, rehab.
Their review process is detailed and thorough, evaluating organizations across hundreds of standards related to service quality, leadership, financial practices, and overall operations. Receiving a three-year accreditation demonstrates that RTC continues to meet these standards consistently.

In their report, CARF noted that RTC “demonstrated substantial conformance to the standards” and provides programs that make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people served by the agency. Reviewers recognized our efforts to help individuals find and maintain employment, supporting greater independence and stability.
Individuals in our programs shared that their experiences at RTC have positively influenced areas such as financial stability, health, relationships and personal confidence. Families and employers also spoke to RTC’s professionalism and its ability to create strong job matches that support both the individual and the workplace.
CARF acknowledged RTC’s strong presence in Logan County and the agency’s commitment to continuous improvement. Their long-standing relationships with many community partners contributed to this recognition.
“This accreditation is an honor and a reflection of the dedication of the entire RTC team,” said Tonya Reed, RTC executive director. “Every staff member plays a part in this achievement through their commitment and care for the people we serve.
“We extend our thanks to our staff, partners and community for their ongoing support of RTC and our mission.”
