Bellefontaine boys hoops tops Kenton in opener

The Bellefontaine boys basketball team defeated host Kenton 59-42 to open the 2025-26 regular season on Friday night.

Grayson Lotts had 21 points for Bellefontaine and Jair Mundy had 16, with nine by C.J Butler.

Bellefontaine trailed 12-6 after the first quarter. They had an 11-10 edge in the second to make it a five-point deficit, 22-17.

The Chiefs then erupted for 24 points in the third and 18 in the fourth, while holding Kenton to 11 and nine in those quarters.

Bellefontaine (1-0) will host Tecumseh on Monday.

Temple Christian 46, Ben Logan 44

Temple Christian edged visiting Ben Logan in a nonleague game on Friday.

Maddox Vermillion had 12 points, six rebounds, and three blocks for the Raiders. Roman Maxwell had eight points and seven rebounds and Peyton Vermillion had eight points, 11 rebounds and two blocks.

Cayden Brown scored nine points and Christian Rogers added five.

The junior varsity won 47-38. Gabe Predmore had 11 points and Owen Stratton nine.

Ben Logan (0-1) will play Tuesday at Riverside.

Parkway 58, Calvary Christian 37

Calvary Christian lost to Parkway in the season opener on Friday.

Braylon Duncan had 14 points and Evan Schmidt had eight points and eight rebounds. 

The JV team lost 66-32. Leading scorers for Calvary were Kole Gantz with 15 and Seth Palmer with six.

Calvary Christian will play at Urbana on Monday.
