Kyle T. Dacanay, 25, of Bellefontaine is facing a driving under the influence alcohol/drugs charge after officers from the Bellefontaine Police Department were alerted that an intoxicated Dacanay was seen getting behind the wheel of a vehicle and driving off in the late afternoon hours of Tuesday, October 28.
Acting on the report, Dacanay was located by officers in the parking lot of Walmart, 2281 S. Main St., at about 5:21 p.m. and when questioned, showed signs of intoxication and admitted to have been drinking.
Dacanay reportedly failed field sobriety tests before being arrested and taken to the Bellefontaine Police Department, where he recorded a 0.19 BAC on a breathalyzer test sample.
The defendant received an OVI citation and mandatory court appearance at the BPD before being released to a sober driver.
