The Benjamin Logan bus drivers put their passion for student safety into action by leading K–3 bus safety and evacuation training for the district’s youngest Raiders on Friday, Oct. 24, in recognition of National School Bus Safety Week. With smiles, patience, and care, drivers guided students through important lessons on how to stay safe on and around the bus. The training covered: pickup and Drop-Off Safety – where to stand, how to cross in front of the bus, and following driver directions; behavior Expectations – how to ride respectfully and keep everyone safe; the “Danger Zone” – recognizing and avoiding the 10-foot area around the bus; and evacuation Drills – practicing how to exit quickly and calmly during an emergency. “Our bus drivers do far more than transport students — they build relationships and model safety every single day,” said Sally Stolly, director of administrative Services. “Their dedication ensures that every ride begins and ends with care.” Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about what they learned and remind them how paying attention on the bus helps everyone arrive safely.
