Ronald Kenneth Gooding, 78, of Lakeview, OH, passed away early Monday morning, October 20, 2025, at his home.
Ronald was born on January 11, 1947, in Providence, RI, a son of the late Kenneth E. “Gene” and Mary E. (Quinn) Gooding. He married Linda L. Reed on June 17, 1994, at Indian Lake and she preceded him in death on November 10, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Ronae Gooding, on October 10, 2025.
Ron is survived by his son, Robert K. Gooding of Mesa, AZ, two stepdaughters, Tracey (Bob) Lowery, and Tonya (Crystal) Jacobs, three grandchildren, Devon Carnes, Madison Miracle, and Natasha Miller, a great grandson, Jayden Martin, and three siblings, Gene (Linda) Gooding of Vermillion, OH, Gregg (Cindy) Gooding of Jackson Center, OH, and Jill (Kody) Newland of Phoenix, AZ.
Ron was a 1965 graduate of Indian Lake High School and attended The Ohio State University. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during Vietnam. Ron was a lifelong resident of Indian Lake. He worked at Beatley’s Hotel and Beach as a kid and worked at Alcoa in Sidney, OH, where he retired. Ron enjoyed sharing Russells Point and Indian Lake History, water skiing, boating, and the time spent at the Indian Lake Amusement Park while growing up. He loved his family deeply and was an Avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be Saturday, November 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39, 110 W. Harrison St, Lakeview.
